Lumari Festival

During Lumari Festival the Lumari gather in the skies high above the Gyrelands in a massive flock and perform a mass courtship dance. During this gathering the Lumari glow in soft yellows and oranges, causing quite the spectacle in the night sky. Many people in Tyrth come from far and wide to attend the festival and see this incredible display. During the week leading up the festival, tents and pavilions slowly sprawl across the warm plains to sell festive foods, drinks, and wares. The most popular ware by far during this festival are the kites fashioned to look like lumari and other creatures of Tyrth. Kites are sold at the stalls, but it's also a popular practice to craft your own kite and bring it to Lumari Festival to celebrate the annual gathering of the lumari.

Luma Puffs

Luma Puffs have become an iconic treat of the Lumari Festival which is held in The Gyrelands annually. Shaped in the form of the festival's namesake, they have a filling based on the Zephyrblush variety of apple, which causes the dessert to float gently. Any profits from the Luma Puff sales go towards Lumari conservation and research.

Originally created by a famous baker fowldyr in small batches, the rapid surge in popularity of the snack has led to the fowldyr having to expand his preparation efforts. Trade agreements have been finalised between the Vale of Mythra and The Gyrelands for special shipments of Zephyrblush. The fowldyr himself travels to the region to both inspect and transport the fruit, using the Moon Gates to ensure its freshness. Apprentice bakers work under his wing to help prepare the Luma Puffs. However, the ingredients and preparation for the apple seasoning is a closely kept secret which only the baker fowldyr knows.

Due to the popularity of this treat, knockoffs appear across the festival every year under vaguely similar names like “Luum Pasty”. Although despite their best efforts, they do not float as well as the original.
