Nautter

These otter-like creatures are covered in protective plating that resembles scale mail. Their scales grow back continuously throughout their lives, and have a lovely iridescent sheen. The people of Tyrth believe that finding a shed scale on the beach is good luck, and the shed scales are often used to make jewelry and other crafts.

Nautters can be found in both fresh water and salt water, and come in a wide array of colours and patterns. It is thought that nautters became brighter and shinier over time due to natural selection as nautters seem to favor the most colourful individuals of their species.

Nautters are social creatures with big personalities. While most nautters are wild, they easily bond with fowldyr and can become great companions. While they can make great pets, it's best if nautter owners make sure their nautters have ample access to water - otherwise these creatures can act out and get into mischief.
